VFWG Award 2025

The VFWG awards prizes of € 1000, € 2000 or € 3000 for the best articles on digital transformation in education and practice published in the International Journal of Health Professions IJHP by December 31, 2025.

Topic: Digital Transformation in Education and Practice of Health Professions

The digital transformation brings many challenges and opportunities for the health professions and the health care of the population. The implementation of artificial intelligence further reinforces this trend. Topics are ethical issues, data protection and security, regulation, integration of various digital systems and platforms, digital skills and the need for continuous training, resistance to change, new dependencies, changes in the world of work through artificial intelligence, heteronomy. But also increased efficiency and patient safety, faster diagnoses, online treatments, innovative therapies using robotics and serious games, increased reach and accessibility of healthcare services through telemedicine and online therapies, more patient self-management through digital tools, new teaching and learning formats for education and training.

Twelve drafts have cleared the first hurdle and have been accepted for the competition.

The manuscripts must be submitted for peer review by August 1st.

After the articles have been published in IJHP, the jury will decide on the award in January 2026.
